Nuart 2019: Brand New, You’re Retro

Nuart Stavanger

From 5th to 8th of September, Nuart festival is back in Stavanger (Norway) with the creation of public artworks, both sanctioned and not so, academic talks, walking tours, Norwegian electronic music and more!

The 19th edition of the renowned street art festival Nuart focuses on “the evocative intersection of memory and the city, and the role of art on the streets in unravelling and reworking not only the city’s collective memories, but also the cultures

As always, Nuart Festival aims to “challenge existing narratives, generate new ideas, and push the boundaries of what constitutes public and private space

Some of the artists invited to take part to Nuart 2019 had already left their mark on the walls of Stavanger during the previous editions of the festival: it’s interesting to see how will they deal with the streets of the Nordic city this year, as recurring artists, and how all these new layers will interact with the excellent public art collection that is already part of the city.
