Besok brings the jungle to Amsterdam

Last month, German-born artist Besok provided the north side of Amsterdam with some fresh color. He painted two long walls underneath the bridge, which separates a shopping mall (Buikslotermeerplein) from a new neighbourhood. To brighten this grey and somber underpass, Besok made lively paintings that resulted in a beautifully balanced color splash: ‘Rumble in the Jungle’.

Inspired by the requests of neighbours and school kids, Besok brought the flora and fauna of the jungle to the cold climate of the Netherlands. From now on, these walls connect the square and the neighbourhood in a colorful and warming way.

‘Rumble in the Jungle’ is produced by Street Art Today and was part of the opening of the outdoor skatepark ‘De Flipperkast’. Art direction by Royalsteez. Commissioned by the municipality Stadsdeel Amsterdam Noord.
