Beautiful homage to mayor of Amsterdam Van der Laan

Dutch master Miel from the duo Telmo Miel made a beautiful homage to our beloved mayor of Amsterdam Eberhard van der Laan. Two weeks ago, Van der Laan laid down his tasks due to health reasons. The mayor is loved by many because he is seen as the bridge builder between different people, cultures and religions in Amsterdam. Therefore, the message of his resigning came even harder.

The Amsterdam based Miel and Street Art Today joined forces to create a worthy ode for one of the most loved and respected mayors that the city of Amsterdam has ever known. The painting can be seen on the NDSM-wharf at the northern banks of the IJ-river.

UPDATE [6 October 2017]: This morning news broke that Eberhard van der Laan has passed away last night.
